A Modernist Navajo silver ring set with

a fine picture jasper or carnelian stone

by George Kee, circa 1950’s

A gorgeous ring made by the brilliant Navajo silversmith George Kee, first cousin to and longtime colleague of “The Father of Modern Navajo jewelry”, Kenneth Begay. Kee and Begay together with Kee’s brothers Allan and Ivan worked alongside each other for years at the White Hogan Shop in Scottsdale Arizona creating gorgeous silver jewelry and flatware designs in their elegant streamlined modernist style.

The ring is a size 8 ¼- 8 1/2 and weighs 16.1 grams or .57 ounces. The beautiful translucent brownish-orange stone measures ¾” by 9/16”. Both ring and stone are in excellent original condition. The ring is properly signed “GK” in capital letters on the interior.
