A Navajo tufa-cast silver and red coral ring, circa 1930’s

A delightful and graceful tufa-cast silver ring with a single oblong red-coral stone set in an old-style fold-over silver bezel. Mediterranean Coral first came to Navajoland in the 1920’s brought in by trading post operators and in exchanges with the various New Mexico Pueblos. This ring is very finely and delicately cast which has always been a mark of skill and distinction in tufa-cast silver work. The ring is a size 9 ¼-9 ½ and weighs 10.8 grams or .38 ounces. It is in excellent original condition.
