A particularly beautiful vintage Navajo silver and turquoise choker necklace with matching clip earrings, circa1950’s-1960’s, maker unknown

This marvelous necklace is composed of five matching contoured silver and turquoise pendants and measures 7 1/4” from the top of the clasp to the bottom of the central pendant measured while lying flat on a table and it measures 13 1/2” from end-to-end when completely opened up. The necklace weighs 91 grams or 3 1/4 ounces. The matching earrings measure 1 9/16” in length by 1” in width and they weigh 8 grams or 1/4 of an ounce each.  The 34 beautifully-matched turquoise stones in this set, (29 stones in the necklace and 3 stones in each earring) are in our opinion, a combination of very fine, high-grade, natural Morenci and Bisbee, Arizona turquoise.  The stones are set in simple, old-style “fold-over’ silver bezels and, in addition to the stones, the five pendants and earrings are further embellished with applied silver “raindrops”. The necklace and earrings are in excellent original condition with one small area of abrasion to the silver at the bottom of the necklace shown in the photo below which could very likely buff out, if desired. This necklace fits somewhat snugly as a typical choker does, but could easily be lengthened a bit, if necessary, by using a longer type of clasp.

Price $2,400 for the set
