A Navajo tufa-cast silver belt buckle set

with a Lone Mountain, Nevada turquoise stone,

circa 1940’s

This buckle is an exquisite little gem. The silver was beautifully and precisely tufa-cast then decorated with exceptionally well-stamped designs and last, set with a gorgeous blue spiderweb turquoise stone which appears to be from The Lone Mountain Mine in Nevada which is one of the rarest and most valuable of all American turquoise varieties. The overall craftsmanship and beauty of this piece is amazing.

The buckle measures 2 ¼” in width and 1 ¼” in height and weighs 30.2 grams or 1.06 ounces. It will accommodate up to a 7/8” wide belt. The buckle is in excellent original condition, the stone has a slight crack but is completely stable and secure in its bezel.
