A beautiful and unique Navajo tufa-cast silver cuff bracelet

set with six turquoise stones, circa 1950’s

this is a wonderful bracelet which features a very unusual arrangement of great-looking turquoise sones. The stones themselves are of beautiful and varied colors, from deep blue to greenish-blue to greenish brown-yellow. Tufa-casting is one of the most difficult of all traditional Navajo silver-making techniques and requires great skill in properly carving the mold and pouring the silver.

This cast shows great subtlety, delicacy and strength, all the hallmarks of a skillfully executed cast piece. The asymmetrical placement of the stones is beautiful and the unusual placement of a stone at the end of each terminal is very attractive. The bracelet’s inner circumference end-to-end is 5 5/8” and the gap between the terminals is 1 1/8” for a total interior circumference of 6 3/4”. It weighs 58 grams or

2 1/8 ounces. All in all, this bracelet is a very striking, distinctive and highly wearable piece.
