A 1962 Guild Starfire III hollowbody

electric guitar

Straight out of the days of Elvis, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddly and Carl Perkins comes this marvelous, deep cherry-red Guild Starfire iii electric guitar. This guitar absolutely embodies the look and sound of old-time rock and roll with a tight bluesy bottom, nice twangy mid-range and a clean, crisp high end.The Starfire iii was a single-cutaway model featuring two pickups, pickup selector switch, 2 tone and 2 volume controls, adjustable bridge, Grover open-back tuners and a Bigsby-style Vibrato tailpiece as original equipment. This guitar is serial number 20288 and it is in excellent, original, working condition with some spotting to the varnish. It is possible that the guitar could have been refinished at some point because there is so little wear to the finish but we can see no evidence of refinishing other than the extraordinary condition so its just as possible that the guitar was simply just not used very much. At 48 years of age, the neck is still almost completely straight. As an added and important plus, the guitar comes in its original brown hardshell Guild case lined with deep orange plush. The case is also in excellent original condition.

We have owned quite a few great vintage guitars, but this one is a real time machine and it will take you straight back to 1962 the moment you pick it up.
