A beautiful Cochiti Pueblo Sterling silver bangle-style “Mojo” bracelet by Cipriano Quintana (a.k.a. Cippy Crazyhorse), c. 2018
Cipriano Quintana (b.1946) has a most distinguished artistic legacy, both of his parents, his father, Joe H. Quintana (1915-1991) and his Mother, Terecita Chalan Quintana (1915-1995) were renowned jewelers.
Known almost universally today by his marvelous, self-bestowed nickname, Cippy Crazyhorse, which he officially adopted in 1975, Crazyhorse is considered a modern-day master jeweler. He is a longtime stalwart fixture of the annual Santa Fe summer Indian Market, as pictured below, where his jewelry is always a fast selling fan favorite.
And little wonder since his work is always most beautifully designed and very finely crafted in heavy ingot silver,
like this lovely bangle-style bracelet, a style Cippy somewhat whimsically refers to as a “Mojo” bracelet.
And his terminology, though fanciful, is fairly accurate, this piece has power; it’s surprisingly solid and heavy
for its slim width and the careful manner in which Cippy has worked the silver surface applying small panels of controlled fine chisel work and stamwpork and careful buffing and polishing gives the piece an intensity and focus
of design and a precious gleaming appearance.

38 grams or 1 3/8 ounces. The bracelet is in excellent-plus original condition with almost no indications of wear and no damages whatsoever. The bracelet is properly signed on the interior with Cippy Crazy Horse’s unique double back-to-back “CC” hallmark and is also marked “Sterling.”
In addition to being a highly accomplished jeweler, Cippy is also an important leader of his Pueblo people
and community having formerly served with distinction as the official Governor of Cochiti Pueblo. He is also
the proud Father and jewelry-making teacher of another fine young Pueblo jewelry artist, his son,
Red Dakota “Waddie” Crazyhorse.
This bracelet is a finely-crafted and beautiful piece by an extremely talented and
accomplished artist who like this beautiful bracelet also possesses some pretty powerful “Mojo”.
